For me, Game Over Cancer is about turning pain into purpose.

Cancer reached Shoma through her father, who was a cancer patient. Watching his treatment showed her what patients carry, and what the families walking beside them carry too: the emotional weight, the physical toll, and the cost.

Game Over Cancer is her answer to that. It raises money for CANSA, and it sets out to change the way the disease gets talked about.

“It is about creating a community where people feel seen, supported, and empowered.”

Before you buy

How much is a donation ticket?

Donation tickets are R50 each. Gaming and tech gear in the prize pool, and every ticket enters every prize.

Can I buy more than one?

Yes. Multiple entries are allowed, and each donation ticket is a separate number in the draw.

Can I buy donation tickets for someone else?

Yes. On the donation ticket page you can put someone else’s name and email on any of the tickets you are buying, and split one payment between several people. Each person is emailed their own ticket numbers once your payment goes through, and it is their details, not yours, that we use to contact them if a number comes up.

When do donation tickets close?

Donation tickets are on sale from 4 September 2026 and close midnight, 14 October 2026. Winners are announced on 15 October 2026.

Can I buy a donation ticket in person?

Yes. Shoma is at the Boardgame and Trading Card Day at The Nexus Hub on 20 September, and at Comic Con Africa on 25 September at the Nexus Hub stand, C570 in Hall 5.

Where are the winners announced?

Winners are announced on 15 October 2026 across Shoma's social platforms, and contacted directly.

Can I give without entering the draw?

Yes. Enter any amount on this page and pay on the same secure checkout. A donation goes to CANSA in full and does not place you in the draw.

Will I get a tax certificate?

A donation ticket buys an entry into the draw rather than being a straight donation, so it does not come with a tax certificate by itself. Should you require a tax certificate for your donation, please contact admin@shomagovender.co.za and we will have CANSA assist you.
